The Healthy Natural Cleaner

The soapberry contains saponin which naturally makes water "wetter"; loosens, emulsifies and holds soil in suspension until it can be rinsed away.

Cleaner vs. Medical Use

Soapberry trees belong to the main plant order Sapindaceae and family Sapindeae. The Genus Sapindus has 168 species, subspecies, varieties, forms, and cultivars.  Two types of soapberry are used for cleaning: The big soapberry known as sapindus mukorossi and the small one, known as sapindus trifoliatus.  The sapindus mukorossi is the superior variety for cleaning.  The sapindus trifoliatus is better for medicinal and herbal purposes.

The Best Quality

There are more than 10 different types of sapindus mukorossi soapberries   There are also differences in the quality of their soapberries.  The best quality comes from the Himalayas.  They are soft, a little sticky and wet naturally.  The lower quality varieties tend to be darker, harder, and less sticky.
